Fairy Tales

You said it would all become

Easier if I tried

And if I didn’t go hunting for a shoulder

Every time that I cried

You said it doesn’t mean its cold

Just because it doesn’t feel warm anymore

And the weapons existing in the mind

Wage the bloodiest war

You told me to keep watching out

For the lights to turn green

And to always be on a lookout for

All the things I’d never seen

You talked of how in the galaxies

Sometimes ever stars broke each others hearts

And how they tearfully bid their goodbyes

As they fragmented into a million parts

You hummed and whispered and sang and spoke

And put me together till I became whole

But you never told me how you absence

Would slowly rip apart my soul.
