Erasure

Paint as I speak:

Opalescence studs the onyx

In the pool of your eyes

Like pearls in oyster shells-

Left behind

By inhibited tears

Lips quiver,

Like the string of a bow

Quaking

At the departure of the arrow

It couldn’t convince

Should stay

Inundated eyelashes

Strike warm cheeks,

Incessant

And cold,

Kissing the hem of your eyes

Desperate farewells

The red crayoned under the roof of your eyelids,

Like a suffusion of the setting sun

Bids

Yet another

Goodbye
