Knock Before You Enter, Please

A door broken

and entered into

A similar fate sustained

by another opening

Inside my perverse body

bereft of a hinge to swing on:

Singed by sin

Scalding, seething streams of sanguine

chafing through shaking legs

Carpets morphing into canvases

Paintbrushes dipped

in incarnadine, unpalatable palettes

My indecorous plastic body

Motionless

Behind glass clad walls

And I become

a mannequin

Pitifully out of fashion
